I interviewed with Acuity and never heard back from the company. It's common courtesy to notify a candidate on if they got the job or not. I would have never have done that as human resource rep. A simple email or a phone call would have been a great gesture. Too busy? Unlikely, too busy posting on social media. Hopefully this poor review will be analyzed. If this is how their employees care about potential candidates, I can only imagine the treatment that their poor customers receive.

We had Acuity for years and they were fine. In July we had a tree blow over during high winds. It caused roughly $22,000 in damage to our property and it destroyed our heating system. We had to file a claim with Acuity. THEY WERE TERRIBLE! They made us feel like we were at fault. They practically called us liars. They refused to have the repairs completed based on estimates from local contractors. Acuity spent over 3 months investigating our damage. Acuity hired a company named Donan Engineering to give results which benefited Acuity. This engineering company came from 400 miles away to disprove the damage and opinion of two independent local contractors. They then tried to say our heating system wasn’t covered under our homeowners policy because It wasn’t listed separately. Really? They spent months “investigating” the claim searching for anything that would disqualify our claim. Our needs and comfort were definitely not considered as temperatures fell into the 40’s without an adequate heat source. Finally in late October I’d had enough. I paid to have the damages repaired and our furnace fixed. I also hired an attorney. Still nothing from Acuity. I gave up on my claims rep and started emailing the VP of Claims directly. Long story short...our claim turned into a negotiation process. In November they offered $2,000 to settle the claim. I refused. The second offer was just over $4,000 and I still refused. I accepted a little over $6,800 to settle and close the claim. Far less than the $20,000 it cost us. I should’ve held out for the full amount but I was tired of dealing with these nasty people. We went months with no heat while temperatures fell. I couldn’t put my family through any more discomfort and I was tired of their game. I’m convinced Acuity purposely drug out the claim so we would settle for far less than the cost of the actual damages. Now that the claim has been closed we are moving all our insurance needs to State Farm. I would never recommend Acuity Insurance to anyone. I’ve learned a valuable lesson from this. I will never go with the cheapest insurance company again.

I've had Acuity Insurance for several years now. I have been nothing but happy with my claims experience and customer service. I had a mix up with my home insurance billing and was able to get Acuity to resolve the issue quickly. Thank you Acuity!

this company is very caring towards their employees. the establishment has many amenities to make working there amazing, envigorating, interesting and thrilling. their family and friend night is an absolutely awesome experience for employee and visitors alike. the building is very modern and high class, along with featuring a indoor climbing wall, gym, and countless modern art pieces.

Edit: Acuity responded to this review asking me to send an email to their Customer Care team so that a review of the claim can be started. I sent the email but I got no response. Another empty promise from this lousy company. Stay away!!

This company has the worst customer service that I've ever experienced. I was in an accident (not at fault) with an individual who has this insurance last weekend and am still without contact from the adjuster or a rental car. I've left numerous voicemails and even asked for another adjuster who has the bandwidth to take on my claim, all without luck. Highly recommend avoiding this company if at all possible.
