We weren't sure what to expect. I can't say I didn't have fun, but if you are thinking of going on the inflatables, make sure you have some agility and upper body strength. I was able to get on the inflatable with a boost from my hubby. My 11 y.o. daughter needed a boost on some of the things too. There are other things to do too: Kayaking, stand-up boards or just hanging out in the deep in your life vest was ok too. We arrived about an hour after they opened: this is just my observation, but I would have hosed the sand down from the bathrooms. Also, I would have sent staff out with a broom to wipe duck poop off inflatables....that's just me...I might be a little over the top...Also, they only have one shower if you're not a local and they're busy that would suck. I wouldn't mind seeing showers that I have to pay for like the Wolf River tubing trips that we take every year. We plan to come back next year and my goal is to be able to pull myself up on the inflatables and maybe go kayaking. So, I'll work out.
I would not recommend this place unless you have a child who is not a great swimmer and have tons of cash to throw down the drain. You basically have 3 options when going here.
1) Beach Access Only: 2-3 foot section that's really only good for young kids who can't swim well.
3) Renting a kayak or canoe: still have to wear a life jacket and you can't jump in the deeper water even.
If you have small kids and dont wish to swim this place is acceptable. but if you are an adult that wishes to swim DO NOT COME HERE. The water is 2 feet deep and they require you to use a life jacket to swim in 3 feet of water. And on top of that. all you here is a loud speaker threatening to call police to cliff jumpers in the distance who are trying to have some fun in water not 3 feet deep for 9 nine bucks. You should go to Elkhart lake for 3 dollars instead just a short drive west. My 2 cents
2) Inflatables: Regardless of your swimming ability you are required to wear a life jacket because there are no lifeguards on staff. You have to stay in a corded off section and can't freely swim in the deeper water.
New owners are great! Great beach and fun water park.
If you are able to swim decently then this place has very little to offer besides the inflatables and even then they sell out of spots to go on them real quick.
Great venue for autumn and winter parties. The room is spacious and the view of the quarry and woods brings a unique enviance to the experience.
