Kind staff, decent food for hospital food lol. If your health is on the line they do try to help. Thank you for everything you do St. Nicks!
As a chronic pain patient with a rate condition I have found Aurora to have a more proactive care practice in their ER than St Nicks. However I have to say that my daughters surgery today at St. Nicks could not have been handled better. The staff was not only skilled and professional but sincerely compassionate towards my anxious preteen daughter. They announced today that Aurora is building one of their giant hospitals in Sheboygan. I've seen this happen in other towns I've lived in. I truly hope St Nicks remains a community asset as their values and kindness are unmatched.
Threw a blanket on her and said that the nursing home can deal with it... Never in my life would I go here for treatment. Unfortunately, this is the only local hospital my grandmothers insurance covers. Shame on you St. Nick. Where is the humanity in the health care system anymore? Think twice before taking yourself or your loved ones here!
My husband had 3 hernias, one umbilical, and 2 inguinal. The surgeon, Dr. Werner has no bed side manner at all. He cut my husbands femoral artery in surgery and came out of surgery telling me it was chaos in the operating room blood all over the place. The nursing staff later that evening and the next day were AWFUL! ! the nurse that discharged him actually stood in between us and turned her back to me when giving instructions for him at home. I will NEVER go back to that hospital again.
TERRIBLE TREATMENT OF PATIENTS! Staff refused to change my nursing home bound grandmother after she had an accident tonight while waiting for the nursing home bus that was running late. She is battling cancer and multiple other ailments that come along with the disease as well as age.
Eight years ago I was diagnosed with Crohns disease and GERD. I took it upon myself to learn as much as I could as I feel it is a patients responsibility. I have made countless trips to the ED. My most recent visit prompted this response. For over a week I experienced severe abdominal pain vomiting and diarreah. The doctor was Cole OHara. He began by discounting my symptoms. Even questioned whether I even have Crohns. He said if the lab results were normal I would be sent home. My GI doctor came to the ED and after listening to my concerns she asked if she could speak with him. I agreed. Afterwards OHara came into the room and told me I need to leave right now and threated to call the police if I did not comply. I informed him first thing on Monday I will be filung a complaint and exploring any and all legal options. One has the right to expect a PROFESSIONAL person treats patients with respect. He set a bad experience the minute he opened his mouth. When I made my way out the door a nurse stopped me and said if I leave it will be charted as leaving AMA. My response Im just following doctors orders. That man should have his medical license revoked.
It was the worst first surgery experience we have had. Then on top of it all when we got the bill because the surgeon called in another surgeon during surgery and never said a word about that to us, we had an outrageous bill.
