Art displays always changing, great food at the cafe, the gift shop is expensive but that's expected. Relaxing and quiet environment, a great place to visit no matter what season it is.
Thanks to donations they do have free admission to most parts, and art classes....summer concerts, etc.. They also have a gorgeous gift shop and a small coffee shop. I love their outdoor garden. Hey I love everything about the ambiance created by JMKAC!
I love this art center. It is so approachable. You leave wanting to go home and start an art project. Admission is free and the art spectacular.
I took a trip to the John Michael Kohler Arts Center abd I had a blast! All of the exhibits were very entertaining. Go there now to see an interactive exhibit of sorts. I will say no more so you can have a full experience yourself. Currently there is a artist who paints signs there. I was quite interesting to learn the history of hand painted signs. Hope you can make it there!
The facilities and grounds here (especially the gardens) are really beautiful, at least in summer, and the cafe's menu is an outstanding collection of fusion-style sandwiches and such. The permanent exhibitions that the museum maintains are heavily weighted toward a quirky stripe of folk art, which cuts down on variety. Your enjoyment of the museum may depend on how much you resonate with that particular type of collection. (Hence the four stars).
